Course Name: CDMA2000 Wireless Internet Optimization Training

Deployment Options: Onsite - Instructor-Led Training

Course Duration: 2-3 days depending on audience background and options

Introduction:

CDMA2000, also known as IMT-CDMA Multi-Carrier or 1xRTT, is a code-division multiple access (CDMA) version of the IMT-2000 standard developed by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The CDMA2000 standard is third-generation (3-G) mobile wireless technology. The world's first 3G commercial system was launched by SK Telecom (South Korea) in October 2000, using CDMA2000 1X.

CDMA2000 Wireless Internet Optimization begins with an overview of CDMA2000 with an emphasis on internet access. It provides a solid background in network fundamentals necessary to offer data services and internet access. Topics covered include architecture and protocols, layering, the OSI stack and the IP suite, IP networking fundamentals, transport protocols, link layer addressing, and a review of hubs, bridges, routers, and gateways. Circuit data services are described including asynchronous data, group 3 fax, analog fax and ISDN internetworking and common RLP.

Packet data services is a major focus of this course and materials covered include IS-707A packet data services, protocol stacks, RLP, simple and mobile IP, QoS, mobility management, dormancy, and accounting. Building upon this foundation of knowledge, the course then describes and characterizes the parameters to best optimize packet data performance over CDMA2000 to maximize system throughput and minimize user latency. The course concludes with a key session that lists guidelines and specific tests for testing and troubleshooting a CDMA2000 wireless network to enable the system operator to verify optimal network performance..

Audience:

This course is for the experienced telecommunications professional with a working knowledge of CDMA who is responsible for deploying, optimizing, and operating CDMA2000 1X networks

Prerequisites:

CDMA Engineering Basics or the equivalent.

Customize it:

This 2-3-day CDMA2000 Wireless Internet Optimization course will be customized to your needs and specifications. Eno.com will assist you in identifying those needs and specifications. A word to the wise, there are many vendors of wireless training. They will typically have a broad and general course, one size fits all, already developed and just put your organization’s name on the title slide. This minimizes their effort and time investment. At Eno.com, every course is made to your exact and exacting specifications. We help you ensure what you are getting is what you really need even if at the beginning you weren’t too sure of what that was. We fit the class to your needs. We never fit you into our “standard”, one size fits all, class.

Objectives:

  • Provide an overview of CDMA2000 with an emphasis on internet access
  • Describe key network fundamentals necessary to offer data services and internet access
  • Discuss in detail CDMA2000 circuit and packet data technology and services
  • Characterize the parameters to best optimize packet data performance over CDMA2000 to maximize system though-put and minimize user latency
  • Define the guidelines and specific tests for testing and troubleshooting a CDMA2000 wireless network to enable the system operator to verify optimal network performance

Course Outline

We will provide a detailed course outline following training needs assessment.
